I'm having problems with some of my AIFF files which fail to record artwork and other metadata
I have compared info with ok files and can see that the files that have the issue don't show a line "Codecs"
Is there a way to resolve this

I'm perfectly aware of that. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear
The problem is that some of my aiff's refuse to record the artwork that I have added
Its has become apparent that some aiff's can be temperamental and I'm not the first to have this issue.
I noticed that the files that don't retain the image have no codec line in the info panel
Is there a repair for this?

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with album art and meta-data for AIFF files in iTunes.
While these files are playable in iTunes, artwork and metadata need to be manually added.
