Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Need assistance transferring data from old iMac (2009 High Sierra 1TB HDD) to new iMac (2019 Monterey 256GB SSD). Can't seem to deselect items in the TimeMachine backup to make the transfer fit on the new drive. Specifically, "Library" at 210GB cannot be deselected (check box is grayed out). Thanks in advance.

Migration Assistant is an all or nothing process. What you are attempting to do is to force 1TB ( what you have on the old Mac) to a 256GB machine. I would recommend you return the new iMac and buy the same configuration with a 1TB drive. Then follow the steps in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant and your migration will go amazingly easily.
