Airpods 3rd Gen find my

Airpods 3rd gen supports find my. To reset or unpair from a previous owner how is this done?

Does the last owner have to do this like on iPhone activation lock, or can you just pair with a new iPhone and it will attach to your AppleID for your find my.

Thanks

Hey QwertyMan11,

That's correct. You would need to disconnect them from Settings > Bluetooth or he can reset them using these steps: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support. Either way, this will allow the AIrPods to be paired with his iPhone for use.

Hope that clears it up!

Hey QwertyMan11,

It sounds like you have a concern with AirPods and Find My. We'll be happy to answer those questions.

The Find My feature is tied to the iPhone that they were set up with. Here's some more information about this: How to find your lost AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max - Apple Support.

Here's how to pair the AirPods to a device: Connect your AirPods and AirPods Pro to your iPhone - Apple Support.
