Monterey/Photoshop Elements

How do you get Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor 2021 to work with Monterey? Adobe says it's not supported, but it works on my MacBook pro and not on my iMac?

Try this:open a Finder window, select Go from the menu bar at the top of the screen, hold down the Option key to reveal the Library folder option in the dropdown menu, open the folder Preferences, drag the item "com.adobe.PhotoshopElements" in the trash folder and delete it.It must be done every time before you start Photoshop Elements 2021-2022 since they don't fix the bug.

Adobe doesn't care about licensed Adobe Elements 21 users - they just want you to pay for Elements 22. Customer service just gives you a run around instead of resolutions

We should all reach out to Apple and let them know how Adobe is advocating for users to downgrade their OS and in my case told me to use a windows based computer

I'm using PE21. Do you know for sure that PS22 will solve the problem? I have understood that it did not. Again Apple has indicated it is Adobe's fault and Adobe gave me a run around also. I'm getting tired of the constant restart to use PS21 and would get (gritting my teeth) 22 it would solve the problem. Thanks for you response.

I wouldn't be able to tell you because I am constantly getting the run around from Adobe - promised phone calls with resolutions, only to call them back a day later to ask where is my call. I have probably spoken to 10 + people between the phone and their online communications. Their customer service is abysmal.

At this point I’m not updating ti Monterey any time soon. Until it’s absolutely confirmed either by Abobe or Apple that they’re not ‘working on it’ but that it’s solved. If Elements 22 works with Monterey I think Adobe owes me a free upgrade for all of the time and effort this screw up has cost me.

remelcher - I agree completely with you. PSE 2021 on my Intel iMac miraculously began working properly (well, almost all of the time) when I updated to Monterey 12.1 a couple of weeks ago. However, I think the very least Adobe could do is give us PSE 2021 owners a much cheaper route to PSE 2022 than what they are doing now for everybody. I usually update on a two or three year schedule (because most updates are only incremental) and believe the current position Adobe is taking is unconscionable.

Update on Photoshop Elements 2021 - I just installed the macOS 12.2 update and the startup issue with PSE Editor 2021 recurred. This time I can get Editor to launch only by rebooting my iMac. I wish Adobe and Apple could get their act together. Adobe refuses to solve the problem with PSE 2021 and says we must purchase PSE 2022 to get things working again. Unbelievable -- and unacceptable.

I bit the bullet and upgraded to PSE 2022 and I find it works fine with Monterey. It doesn't seem fair (who said life is fair), but I'm not grumbling about the workarounds any more and that makes it worth it to me.

I deleted the app about five times and reinstalled it. After about 10 minutes of watching the wheel spin, I received a message saying that a new version was available. I believe it was called Elements 2021.3 It downloaded, not sure how it happened, but it is now working. I did submit error reports to Apple and Adobe, but I doubt it resulted in any fix. I had also deleted creative cloud and the organizer app each time.

I spoke too soon - I just tried opening the app to "get info" and it froze again. Third time after force quit and it opened without restarting. Still has issues :-( It takes about three minutes to open now.
