Grapher not updated on macOS Monterey

It seems that Monterey did not update the Grapher version, which is still Version 2.7.

Any chance that the old bug that corrupts a .gcx file when saving it will be fixed?

(Grapher cannot reopen certain .gcx files once they are saved. This bug has been reproduced many times in forums and in Apple Support).

Any help for a workaround or a fix?

Mac mini 2018 or later

Thanks for the prompt reply, and sorry for not being more detailed.

1) Open Grapher 2.7 on Monterey 12.0.1 (but with Big Sur same behavior).

2) Choose the "Default" 2D Graph.

3) Create any scalar field, like "y" (no equals sign). This should shade the plane with a scalar field from the default blue to red colors.

4) Save , with either the default "Untitled" or with any other file name.

5) Try to reopen. You will get the message: "The document "Untitled.gcx" could not be opened.

Thanks.

I will follow the suggestion and file a big report.
