How do I get my AOL account to be verified in System Preferences, Internet Account? I use AOL on Safari for emails; I changed my password a few months ago, and now get a message "unable to verify account. If I delete it in accounts, what gets removed? Someone with that problem on these forums says they deleted it as an internet account and then added it back in. What does that step remove and from where? Or is it a simple matter of adding it back in to reactivate and avoid the error message? I have High Sierra on my iMac.

CANNOT ADD EMAIL ACCOUNT I used my bellsouth email account for a very long time on my iMac. It got to a point that I could no longer send or receive mail. I could not fix the problem, so I decided to delete the account and reboot, and then add it back. Upon doing so, I got the message "unable to verify account name or password"; so I am stuck. The account name and password are correct, because I can access it in Safari by using the same credentials. How can this be fixed?
