Black Safari Background

Why are the results of my Safari searches on my iMac now coming up with white text on a black background? I have just upgraded to Monterey 12.0.1 and Safari 15.1.

I have checked that the 'Dark mode' is off.

What else can I do?

Safari background comes up black With Mac OS 12.1 and Safari 15.2, after viewing several pages correctly, a page will come up with the background black. If the text is already black this makes it unreadable. I have resorted to using Brave instead but I miss the keychain integration. Booting in safe mode, as suggested in a previous comment about this, did nothing. The Safari Technology Preview also has this problem. I tried emptying the Caches from the Develop menu and disabling all extensions and that did not help.

Mac Safari keeps switching to dark mode. When I open safari and I go to a new tab on google the dark mode switches on automatically. Any ideas what this is?

Some images not displaying on Safari I am running an iMac with Catalina 10.15.7 and Safari 15.6.1 and some images from at least one particular website refuse to display, instead I get the blue ? box. The exact same website displays perfectly via Google Chrome and also on a MacBook/Air running the latest Ventura and Safari. Can't update the iMac since it is Late 2013 so cannot run Ventura and I am not ready to upgrade to a new iMac just yet. I have generally found Safari to be a bit odd in the past, in that quite often websites do not run properly, whilst working perfectly on Chrome. I presume I have a duff setting somewhere, but have been through all the obvious things in the developer menu as well as clearing History and Cache, all to no avail. Any suggestions gratefully received.
