Can't import in photos 7.0

I can't import new photos now that I upgraded to Monterey and photos 7.0. When I try, it shows the new pictures since the last time I imported, but will never pull in the new pictures no matter how long I wait, or how many I try to import.

Any one else seeing this and have a suggestion on how to fix this?

Are you trying to import from a camera or from an iPhone or iPad?

If you are trying to import from a camera, what is the format of the photos? Are you trying to import directly from the camera or from the card?

If you are trying to import from an iPhone or iPad, is the device syncing with iCloud Photos?
