I don't understand how this solves any problem. If I still get all the emails that these senders want to send to me, what good does it do if they don't know my "real" email address? The emails are still coming to my inbox and I have to take an action to stop them, just like I could by opting out.
To add onto that, when you generate a random email address for a specific app or website, their system will block emails from other sources. So even if they sell that random address, you won’t ever see anything from the companies that bought it.
If they don't know your real email address, they can't share your real email address with others that might want to send spam or other emails that you would rather not receive.
