I cannot set Chrome as default on Iphone

I updated ios to 15. I downloaded and removed & reinstalled Chrome multiple times from app store. I selected Chrome as default browser in Settings, also multiple times. Yet, websites from my home screen & via links still open in Safari. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

To make Chrome your default browser you need to go to settings > Chrome > default browser app and then deselect Safari.

Selecting it as the default search engine isn’t enough.

If it’s still not working try restarting your iPhone: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/force-restart-iphone-iph8903c3ee6/ios
