If just one button fails, then the internal circuitry may be broken. Unfortunately there is no official repair for that. You can buy a replacement remote, though.

Play/pause button suddenly not working I have an Apple TV 4K model A2169 running tvOS 15.6 suddenly the play pause button has stopped working on the remote, it also does not work if I use the remote on my iPhone. I looked up the issue and anything about a play button issue dates back to 2020 and the solution suggested on those posts is to change audio format to stereo this however does not fix the issue for me. has anyone had this problem or know of a possible solution please?
