How do I keep my hard drive free of files also stored on iCloud? I want the majority of my personal files only stored in iCloud and not on my local hard drive. I use photo stacking software that uses a lot of hard drive space temporarily. I removed several files and put them on the iCloud, and then they automatically synced and were downloaded back onto my hard drive.

Right click on a file that is on your computer and in iCloud Drive, then select remove download. It will save the file in iCloud. The file will still show up on your computer, but it will have a download icon next to the name and won’t take up space.
