Directv streaming issues

I haven't been able to stream directv on my imac since updating to osMonterey. I keep getting the same error message: "upgrade directtv player". I've tried clearing cache, downloading player, and restarting the browser (multiple times) and still get the same message each time. I am able to stream directly from the nbc, abc, ESPN sites, but not from the directv site.


I'm using safari browser. I also tried chrome browser and get the same message.


I contacted directv customer support, who blame it on Mac.


Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else with directv since updating to Monterey.


iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

You mentioned you're using Safari to access DIRECTV. Please follow these steps to help resolve this: If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected


If you're still experiencing the same thing, create a new user account on your Mac. This can help us determine if the issue is related to the user settings. Follow this: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Sign out of your user account, and in to the new one. Test to see if you can stream DIRECTV now.
