Times and file count have always been a bit flakey...
It can take some time
If you are truly stuck, start over.

wait as long as you can, then cancel it and see how far it got. It might have finished and just gotten lost while cleaning up.
If it only got part way through, it may have choked on a particular file, or the source directory may have an issue that could be repaired with Disk Utility RepairDisk/FirstAid.
