Wifi Assist & Cell Coverage

I have poor cell coverage in my area and have been using Wifi Assist up until this morning when I installated the latest IOS15 update.

In the past, I was able to put my phone in Airplane Mode and all calls would route over my reliable wifi. Post update when I try to make a call or send a text it insists that I disable wifi mode. Texts are still delayed by 15-20 minutes.

And cell calls are now even more unreliable than ever for my service area.

Any suggestions?

Hi

thanks for getting back to me.

The issue is that because I wasn’t under serviced area I was reliant on Wi-Fi assist to help make my calls.

In the past I was able to put my phone into airplane mode with Wi-Fi assist turned on and use Wi-Fi to make all of my phone calls.

Since iOS upgrade 15.1 I now need to maintain my cellular connection in order to use Wi-Fi assist.

This also causes a severe drain on my battery which was never the case prior to this upgrade.

Thank you
