Activation Lock

Bought a phone of a friend, it’s activation locked but not with there account what shall I do?

Activation lock can ONLY be removed by the person who put the lock on the phone. If you bought a used phone and the person you bought it from doesn't know the actual lock on the phone, you will NEVER be able to use this phone. Apple will not remove Activation Lock without proof of original ownership, by means of showing the actual purchase receipt with the iPhone serial number on it. Since it's highly unlikely you have that, or your friend has that, the phone will remain locked.


Get your friend to refund your money or you have bought yourself a decorative coaster in the shape of an iPhone.
