I have a macbook pro with a thunderbolt 2 port - just bought the Samsung Ultrawide CRG9 screen and I cannot find a cable that will give me the 1440 resolution and 120hz.. it’s only giving me the option of 1080 … it looks terrible… help

a Mac with only ThunderBolt-2 is 2015 model-year or older. ¿which one exactly?
HDMI on those Macs is version1.4, suitable for 1920 by 1080p at 60 Hz or "4k" at 30 Hz.
It is a 2012 but I just read that you could still convert somehow to still get to 1440. Guess not?
