Can't get 1440 resolution on new monitor with macbook pro 2012

I have a macbook pro with a thunderbolt 2 port - just bought the Samsung Ultrawide CRG9 screen and I cannot find a cable that will give me the 1440 resolution and 120hz.. it’s only giving me the option of 1080 … it looks terrible… help

2nd Display Support: Dual/Mirroring2nd Max. Resolution: 2560x1600

Details: The maximum resolution supported on an external display is 2560x1600.


You need more computer to drive even half of that display at full resolution.
