Why is Apple News out of sync? Saved stories are different across devices.

I have an iMac, iPad and iPhone. All are on the latest OS versions. I have iCloud+ and everything else seems to be synced properly across devices.

News is out of sync, or partially synced but lagging by a few days. Stories I’ve saved on one device aren’t in Saved on another. Stories I’ve read and unsaved on my iPad are still saved on my iPhone. History (stories I’ve clicked on) are all different, too.

Is there a setting I’ve overlooked? Many thanks in advance.

Hi pah2105,

It seems you're having some trouble syncing and we can help.

First, let's make sure sync is enabled for News.

Go to Settings > [your_name] > iCloud, and make sure News is enabled to Sync.

Next, go to Settings > News, and make sure Background App Refresh is enabled.

Do this for both your iPad and iPhone.

On the Mac, go to System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud, and make sure News is checked.

That should keep all of your devices as up-to-date as possible.
