reopen all windows from last session safari not working

I use to be able to close safari and then when open safari later be able to restore all windows from last session. I have my preference set to Safari is set to open all windows from Last session.

It worked perfect until a month ago with one of the updates.

This a feature I can't live without.

Hello there, Eliu1!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you have an issue with Safari not restoring your last session windows properly. Based on what you're describing, let's start with the steps in this article If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected.

Next, we recommend taking a look at this article with steps to follow for How to use safe mode on your Mac. This will perform checks and stop certain software from starting up automatically. Once you are in safe mode, test to see if you have the same issue.

We also suggest following these steps to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac and create a test user to see if the issue is user specific or system wide.

Keep us posted on the results and have a super day!

I'm sorry I don't understand how your response helps MY problem.

For many years my safari worked perfectly since 2 updates ago I can not get my last safari session back.

I read many posts and saw a lot of videos and nothing helps.

I have Safari Preferences --Safari Opens with: All Windows from the last session.

When I reopen Safari I go to History -- Reopen All Windows from Last Session.

And nothing happens It doesn't save my last session (windows and tabs).

Then the option of Reopen All Windows from Last Session goes gray.

It is a very important feature of Safari and has worked properly for as long as I could remember.

Something in one of Apple's updates has eliminated this feature.

Thank you for your help.

Steven
