Mac OS Monterey : Migration Assistant frozen after Time Machine Backup selection

Dear Community,

I have upgraded to Mac OS Monterey and create a new time machine backup on an external NVME SSD.

I need to transfer my backup data on a new MBP Pro 2019 but once the Migration Assistant is launched, it gets frozen once the time machine backup is selected.

I can't get to the screen when I have to selected Applications / Documents etc ...

I tried several times with several configurations but the result is similar

If there is any help I can get to solve this issue, it would be great.

Following these instructions leads me to the transfer-assistant image of my different back-ups and the one I need keeps telling me that "the drive is in use. Return later" Which I have done several times - with no luck. (And it is not in use)
