New iPhone restore from iCloud

We bought a new iPhone yesterday and set it to restore from the old iPhone via iCloud. Fifteen hours later it is still restoring, should we start over or is there another option to getting the restore to finish? Thank you.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities Rvjjr,

Congratulations on your new iPhone! We'd be happy to help get your iPhone restored from your iCloud backup. You mentioned that it's taking a long time to restore, has it been connected to a Wi-Fi network the whole time? The reason we ask is that, the restore will pause when out of Wi-Fi and resume when connected again.

Are you able to use the device or do you see a progress bar? Has the device been restarted?

Restart your iPhone

If you are looking for an alternate way to set up your iPhone, you can also use Quick Start if you have access to the old iPhone and both devices meet the requirements: Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Hope that helps!
