Migration Assistant

My old MAC is OS Catalina and I suspect my new MAC will come with the latest OS. Can I use Migration Assistant to transfer applications, files, documents, etc via WIFI?

Hi Joyce,

Yes, you can use Migration Assistant to transfer your data from your old Mac to your new Mac. Please note, however, that a wireless connection may be slower compared to a wired connection.

To take advantage of a wired connection, back up your old Mac via Time Machine onto an external drive, then transfer from the external drive in Setup/Migration Assistant on your new Mac.
