auto save in iCloud email on my laptop
My question is, my laptop, OS Big Sur 11.6, auto saves my emails in drafts about every sentence or so. It
will save 10 or 12 versions of an average email. How can I turn this off?

Open mail application , use command and N keys to compose a mail Keyboard shortcuts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support , fill in the To , From field , write some sentence it will start saving in drafts , click on red dot in left corner of the window , a pop up will appear , click on don't save .
You must never leave compose mail window before quitting mail application if you are not sending mail to recipient ( that the reason use command and W keys ) to close it , again right click on mail app and click on quit .
When mail is composed and you write some sentences in subject field , it will start saving in drafts you can close the window ( use command and W keys ) and click on don't save .

Thanks for the help. I couldn't figuire out what you did to get the screen from above. I clicked command W like you
suggested and everything went away and I was staring at a blank laptop screen. I am not much of a geek. But I did figure out how to save my drafts to the trash. So I guess that will work. Have a good one, fotoman47
Thanks for the second round of suggestions. I'll give it a try.
