Focus: Do Texts and Phone Calls Only Go Through From Allowed Contacts When the Messages App and Phone App are Allowed?

When I set up a custom focus and add contacts who I want to receive notifications from, will I only get texts and phone calls from the contacts that I have allowed if I allow the messages app and the phone app, or will I get texts and phone calls from everyone? I read the Use Focus guide from Apple, and under the section Customize settings from Home Screen there’s a picture of a Focus that has been set up. A woman has been allowed as a contact, and the messages app and phone app are allowed too. My question is with this setup, would texts and phone calls only come through from this woman, or would texts and phone calls come through from all the contacts?
