iPad. Second hand Id activation code

last year. I bought a second hand iPad and thought she, the seller, deactivated her Id and set to factory mode. I was not aware of this setting so I just trusted she knew. Few weeks ago I reset to factory because it started running a bit slow. And the system asked me for activating the ID. I don’t have her contact details and I would have like to send her an email listed showed on the screen but it only showed partial of the email address so I am complete stuck. Is there any way to let the owner know someone is using her previous device which she is no longer using?

please help !

The iPad is useless to you.

Here are the Apple support pages that outline the Activation Lock - and the only mechanisms by which it can be turned off:

Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Turn off Activation Lock – Apple Support

As you will discover, unless you are the owner of the AppleID that was last used to activate the device, or you are able to independently contact the previous owner, you’ll not be able to defeat or bypass the Activation Lock. With documentary evidence that you are the original owner (such as sales receipt showing the serial number), Apple may be prepared to assist - otherwise they and nobody here will be able to help you.
