Wrong color?

I got the gold stainless steel watch but it looks silver… kind of disappointed. Wondering if I was sent the wrong color?

It's hard to tell from the photo. It does look more silver than gold, but all the Stainless watches are highly polished. If you think Apple sent the wrong color, first check your order to ensure you ordered what you think you did and if it's not right, take it to your closest Apple Store and show it to them.

Take a photo of it, not on your wrist, but on a pure white background and post it.

The thing with difference finishes, is they will look difference in different lighting situations. Honestly, if the watch was as gold as the studio photo they show, it might make it harder to use different bands with it. I go for the pure silver stainless, because to me, it's the most neutral of colors and since I currently have over 15 different watch bands I've collected, they go with the watch more easily.

Bottom line is though, if you're not fully pleased with the color, you do have 14 days to return the watch for a different watch. Maybe live with it for a day or so. Also, consider if you'll be buying extra bands and how they'll coordinate well with your watch color.

I do have fun with watch bands. I got this today for the new watch. It's pricey for sure as it's real Alligator, but it will be great on the new watch:

I do hope you enjoy the watch. If this is your first Apple Watch, my high-end Swiss mechanical are jealous as they rarely, if ever get worn anymore.
