Is there no UPS shutdown feature in this OS? If not, why not?
hooray - once you connect the UPS it shows up in Preferences - Energy /Saver with shutdown options...

Yeah of course. That is how Mac OS has operated for the past 15 years. It does not show any UPS settings unless it is connected to a UPS.
Do you have a UPS connected to your iMac, if so which one and describe how it is connected??
