Try rebooting and see what the numbers are. Rebooting frequently, like every other day, clears out temporary system and application swap and cache files which helps the system to be more efficient.
Have you installed or run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your MBA?
Saw another posting on the same topic and that person had the same reaction Annoyance but to degraded performace on the computer.
It was suggested to them to use Activity Monitor >> View >> View All processes and observe this process to measure if degraded performance was actually happening. In their case it was not
That is good to know.
The " HelperView " process is a Native process to Monterey. Some back history, in older versions of macOS, shortly after a Newer Version was installed there was a process called " Tourist". This process was part of an process that would give a Guided Tour of the new Features on that newly installed OS.
Now, even almost two weeks after installing Monterey on my M1 MBA the HelperView still appears in Activity Monitor. Still get the occasional Slide-Out Popup from Apple with Tips on this or Tips on that aspect of the new Monterey
What is I am trying to explain - worry not about this process. It is just a normal process.
no cleaning or any sort of apps like that
Is it affecting the MBA's performance or the performance of any apps you use?
No its just annoying
Help Viewer isnt currently killing my screen time and isnt showing up in activity monitor.
One says yes in original question Helperview is killing my Screentime. And says not in Activity monitor.
must ask so where is the issue?
It was Killing my screen time. it stopped last Wednesday. I didnt check if it was in activity monitor on Tuesday.
Why even have Screen Time on unless your parents have it on to check your MBA use.
thats exactly why I have it
So you can't turn it off. Bummer. Have you tried to explain to your parents what's going on and that there are false numbers being reported?
