Iphone folder is empty when I connect to the Window10

Tried to import the photos from my phone to laptop, but cannot find any DCIM folder.

I used the authentic usb cable, and trusted the computer, but it says the folder is empty.

Not sure if this works on a Windows OS Vista, see steps below (works on a Windows OS 10 computer):

Go to start

Click on the Photos app (Not sure you have the Photos app on your computer).

Go to 'Import' at the top right of the screen.

Click on 'From connected device'.

Connect iPhone to computer via USB cable.

Click on 'Allow' on iPhone

Photos from Iphone appear on screen

Select the photos you want to move to your file by clicking the small square in the photo.

Indicate the folder you want to move them to under 'Change destination'.

and then click 'Import' at the bottom of the blue area. after which the photos will be placed in the folder you chose.
