apple watch (series 6) family setup stuck on terms and conditions screen on iPhone 11
During the setup process I click to agree to the T&C that appears on the iPhone screen after entering the credentials for the second apple ID that will be associated with the watch. Each time I click agree it displays a message saying it is connecting to the watch (or something to that effect) then just goes back to the T&C screen and asks me to agree again. It it stuck on this screen no matter how many times I try.
I spoke to Apple support who had me reset network settings on both the phone and the watch, which didn't work. They then had me erase the watch and then set it up as as my watch (as opposed to the family setup), which worked. We then unpaired and tried the family setup again, but it still got stuck on the T&C screen. At that point, the support agent told me I'd have to go into an Apple store to have them try to fix it.
All the software is up to date: iOS 15.1 and watchOS 8.1. I'm thinking this must be a bug in 15.1, which I just updated to last week. Hopefully there will be a fix released soon but if anyone ran into this and solved it, I'd love to hear how.
