WindowsServer high usage, any connection to Memory Leak due to Monterey?

i have the newest 14” M1 Pro Base Model with the latest update of Monterey. A couple of days ago my laptop was heating up when i was pretty much doing nothing on it (just a couple of tabs open on safari which were disney+, youtube), origins was on standby and microsoft word was opened too. it was really warm which i was really worried about because it never got warm before and considering the m1 pro is supposed to be very good with not overheating . Then i checked activity monitor and the usage of WindowsServer was insanely high (100-115%). I was wondering if this problem might have anything to do with the recent memory leak problem due to the Monterey OS? Or did i maybe get a defective product and should return it to Apple? Any help and insight is appreciated.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.0

Two suggestions:

(1) Is WindowServer using a lot of memory, as well as using the CPU? That's the giveaway re memory leaks. The fix, for a lot of people, has been to reset the cursor colors back to the default black & white.

(2) I had a similar issue with an Intel MB Air running Monterey (heat and fans, with the machine sitting idle), and in that case resetting the SMC solved the problem. (Shut down; hold down cmd, opt, shift and the power button for ten seconds; release all four; and restart.)
