It did for about 2 hours, then quit. There is sound over the attached speakers, but not the headset. All other apps do play over the headset. So it is pretty clear this is a problem with the Apple app. I reset the app but that had no effect. It isn't a whole lot of use to me if I can't listen to it after the wife goes to bed.

As I said initially, I tried a reset and it did nothing. I guess I'll try removing and reinstalling.
Removing the app and reinstalling it did nothing either. Apple TV+ crashes all sound across all apps. They play through Bluetooth and then suddenly they don't. They play through speakers and then suddenly they don't. Everything on Connect Bluetooth Devices to Google TV I've already tried. Everything work, through speakers and through Bluetooth, until I start the Apple app and then nothing works.
When you say "Let us know how it worked," maybe you ought to check back every now and then and see how it worked. Google solved the problem.
