Exported files don't appear but can be found in search

Hello, working on a MacBook Pro from Mid 2015 with 2,2 GHz and 16 GB memory. In the last couple of days I had a very annoying problem, any exports (folders or single files alike) from programs like Figma, Photoshop, Lightroom don't appear where I exported them to, but when I search for them I can open them in Preview or move them, where I can also see them suddenly. Anyone else having this issue? Restart won't make them appear, they are still not visible.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2

Hello hat_person,

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about that difficulty with locating those exported files.

How about those apps? How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Additionally, do you experience a similar behavior with any other apps?

Hopefully those details will help to isolate this further.

Take care.

Are you saying that you exported a file to a specific folder that you put on your desk top and when you came back the file was not there? Was the file there in the first place when you exported it? Sometimes I export files from Affinity Photo and I thought I exported them to a place but it was actually the last place, not the new place.
