Is there a way to free up space on your MacBook Pro using iCloud? I'm aware of the Maximize storage feature for photos and video...but what about for documents?

You may be able to reduce the storage that iCloud Drive (including Desktop & Documents option) takes on your Mac by turning on Apple menu > System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud (in sidebar) > Optimize Mac Storage.

Thanks for the help. I do have this on but my freespace is dropping as I load more documents and files onto the drive. I guess at some point this optimization will kick in. Do you know at what point of free space on my harddrive does this start to work? When I get to less than 20% free? 10% free? thanks.
