Hi, I am about to buy a cellular enabled ipad but I am wondering if the text message forwarding feature will work on it if I don't put a sim card in the ipad. I know that its a bit wonky with iphone to iphone forwarding but I have no idea how it works with a cellular ipad. If someone can let me know if it will work or not would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Text Message forwarding is setup on your iPhone, not the iPad. A cellular iPad still cannot natively send/receive SMS text messages, because the cellular access you have on a cellular iPad is for data only. You can use iMessage on the iPad, and if you have an iPhone you can setup text message forwarding and select the iPad if it is signed in with the same Apple ID as the iPhone and handle SMS/MMS on the iPad.
