No sound or video play after MacBook goes to sleep

My MacBook is not playing any sound or video after it comes back from sleep. Any solution for this? had this problem on big sure and still having the same problem in version 12.0.1 Monterey.

If it wasn't playing when it went to sleep are you expecting music or vid to auto start after coming out of sleep? Or are you saying you can't manually get a song or vid to play? Under what circumstances, if any, can you get the player to work?


What player are you using?


It might be helpful to have full details on your Mac: Apple icon > "About This Mac". Leave off the serial #.

So a sleep "bug" interrupts normal operation of the sound system and a Recovery Panel replacement of the OS does nothing. Maybe it's not a software problem.


As a true last resort, I've done the drive wipe and OS reinstall, but I think before doing that we might want to see if others have better suggestions. A hardware problem is not fixed by that either, if that even the cause.


I have had this problem before, with my son's 2020 MBA M1, but his was the default sound output he'd forgotten about.
