Got fake airpods replacement from Apple

I bought the 2nd generation airpods with wireless charging case online from Apple, and when I tried it, it didnt work.

I requested a repair and they sent me a box to mail the damaged product. After few days, they sent me an email and text message that the replacement is being shipped to me. I received a box from another source called logistic something from Pennsylvania, and it only has the airpods and the charging case in it. When trying them, the charging case is totally not working, its just dead.

Tried to contact Apple support, and got an appointment to meet a technician, and then the technician said the charging case is fake, but the airpods inside are authentic. At first he mentioned its fake because it has a hole at the front (which all wireless charging cases have normally), and then he mentioned that he inspected it and its just fake. I checked the serial number on both the charging case as well as the airpods, noting it is exactly the same.

I told them this is what I got from you, and they start pushing back saying this is not bough or replaced by Apple.

I showed them the box I received for the replacement, and they mentioned this was not sent by Apple, it was sent by another company and Apple does not have any warehouses in Pennsylvania, and replacements are usually sent directly from Apple in their boxes, which is not true, i got a replacement for my phone and got it in just a white box, not iphone box as they stated.

So its clearly noted that they don't want to fix or honor their warranty, and just trying to push people out when they ask for replacements or repair. Maybe they are working with a repairing vendor who is sending fake products when requested.

When that happened, I tried to google this issue, noting a lot of other people had the same incident, which is totally unethical for a big company like Apple.

This just doesn't sound right for Apple Service, their standard is normally first class. I think there is more to this than you have mentioned so far.

I think you need two go right back to the roots of the problem. Exactly how did you order online from Apple? Exactly who did you contact (and how?) for the initial repair request? Go back to the email advice of shipping and check it very carefully to see if it really came from the apple.com email domain.

There should have been some documentation with the replacement product. Look closely, it should have clues for whether this came from Apple or from a third party.

You mention 'an appointment to meet a technician'. Was this appointment in an Apple Store, or somewhere else?

See if these thoughts give you any clues for how this has become messed up.

OK that seems to rule out the job getting hijacked by a rogue third party repair shop. I'm sure this is not the quality of service which Apple intends, so you should be able to get it escalated up the chain. Unfortunately I am not really sure of the process to achieve this (I never needed it) so I have to guess. Start by going to your original repair case, find the ticket reference and contact info and see if you can get it re-opened as a failed repair complaint, asking to be bumped up to the supervisor if you are not getting anywhere fast. If that doesn't work it may be time to head for Apple's home page and look near the very bottom of the page for the Contact Apple link which gives you all the contact info, then fire a problem report to Cupertino.

Thanks for your reply. I was shocked at first as well, as the standard of Apple should be way higher.

Well, I bought these directly from Apple website. When I had issue, I submitted a repair case through Apple.com in the support page through their website, and I showed their advisors emails and messages that support this is what I received from Apple.

And lastly, the appointment was at Apple store.
