iwatch will not update

updated iPhone to 14.8.1 and now when I try to update my watch it tells me to update my phone first. My phone is up to date

Updating iPhone 6 plus I recently got an Apple Watch 5 and am trying to pair it with my iPhone 6 Plus, however my phone needs to be updated to iOS 13 first. Whenever I go into updates it says that my phone is up to date. I have tried turning it off then on, restarting my internet router, and resetting my network settings and it is still not showing an available update. How can I find this update so I can use my new watch?

Cannot update watch because phone won’t update I cannot update my watch until I update my phone. However, my phone won’t update to iOS 17. How can I update my watch?

What model iPhone do you have? If you want too update your watch to watchOS 8.X, you will need iOS 15.X on your iPhone.

iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are compatible with these devices - Apple Support
