Touch ID Software Compatibility

Is touch ID on the iMac M1 24" keyboard compatible with third-party apps, like LastPass (a password manager), or only with keychain or Safari?

use touchID for macos login after reboot hi, im not sure. if this is possible but how could I only use touchID for logging on macos Monterey instead of manually typing in password. is there an option that we can turn this on at our own risk, if we decide to? this option should be a choice of our own I believe, not a choice forced onto us by Apple

Touch ID not entering passwords I have a new 24in iMac with a TouchID keyboard. TouchID works to login (although often I have to enter my password anyway, perhaps due to the 48hr rule) and when a website in Safari has a password, it prompts me to use TouchID to access the Keychain and enter the passwords. When I do that, I don't get any error, but the password itself is never entered and only sometimes is the login name entered. I do not have this problem on any other Apple device that uses keychain and/or TouchID. Keychain access is on, TouchID in system preferences has all boxes checked (e.g., "Use Touch ID for password auto fill") but clearly there is a problem. Any suggestions?
