Sync Library to other devices

Hi

If I Sync Library on my iphone what will happen if other devices do not have sufficient capacity. I have a lot of music on my iphone. I don't really want to Sync Library across all my devices. The reason I am asking is that I downloaded an album on ITunes from my ipad but I cant get it across to my iphone. Thanks for any info.
