AirPods keep disconnecting intermittently

my sons airpods keep intermittently disconnecting from pc windows 10 and iphone 12 pro max. we have tried all the suggested online solutions with no luck.

we tried the suggestions and its still disconnecting. it disconnects from pc and the iphone 12 pro max. it worked fine until recently and we havent had any changes.
