How to change the content or category assigned to a photo

I’d like to know how I can change the content or category assigned to a photo.


Photos has automatically categorised a bunch of my photos as receipts that are not receipts, presumably because they contain text. Photos of descriptions of artworks taken in a gallery, for example.


Just as we are in control of tagging people and correcting mistaken tags, I think we should be able to change Photos’ content classifications too.


Does anyone know how to do this?

Currently you can't correct the categories. The classification algorithm to assign categories is built into Photos.


The categories are sometimes wrong, as you noticed. I am seeing plenty of incorrectly classified animals, cats classified as dogs, rhinos classified as elephant, etc. On my Mac I am assigning the correct category as a keyword and search for the keyword, on the iPhone we still cannot assign keywords, so I add the correct category to the caption of the photo.

You could also collect the photos for the categories you want to use in an album and remove the false positives from the album.
