Before clicking the "Get Started" link did you notice what the results of the diagnostic?
I've never clicked on the "Get Started" link so I'm not sure what that entails. You can use the SMC Reset to force the laptop to power off.

If the Diagnostics did not report any issues, then what issues were you having with the laptop which led you to run the diagnostics? Also what were you doing on the laptop just before those problems started?
I restarted the PC and held down CMD+D to get to the diagnostic. From there, I let it run, and then I clicked "Get started". It opened a Safari window, but after I close the window it has been stuck. Now it's low battery.
You can force a power off by performing an SMC Reset.
