How did the thief succeeded in getting my Apple ID m password even when it was on lock mode ....how come I wasn't sent the location immediately he turned on my iPhone..... Right now he has succeeded in removing my device from the list of device and I don't know how to get my device again....I need my iPhone back

I tried to locate it using a friend device and declare device stolen, but in order to that - I had to sign in with AppleID password - which iforgot - so I could not declare my phone as stolen/lost & delete data. After a few failed attempts I got a message from apple that now the account is a recovery period, and I have to wait a few days until i could retry to recover my password and restore all the data from Icloud. Now, with a new Iphone, I cannot login to my original AppleID and have to wait for the recovery period to end (20.6). Questions: 1) I did not declare phone is stolen via "FindMyIphone" - can the thief do a DFU mode and sign in into a new appleID account ? 2) If 1) is "yes", does that mean that I will not be able to declare a stolen device & delete all of its data, once I will retrieve the password, because now the device is in use of other apple ID ?

Stolen Iphone So my phone was stolen two days ago and I took most of the necessary steps to ensure my iPhone is inaccessible. However, I am still very paranoid that the thief will somehow get into my phone so I have a few questions that have been keeping me up and am hoping someone can answer. 1) I put my phone in lost mode, called my mobile carrier, and reported it stolen, but didn't remotely erase it because I thought it would be untraceable if I did. So now I tried to erase it and my question if my iPhone is offline and has no cellular connection (since my mobile carrier blocked it) will the request to erase it go though? 2) I also wanted to change my Apple ID password for extra security, but I am worried if I do it will sign out of my stolen device. Does it sign out of the stolen device and if so, will it still be trackable and will my request to erase my device go through?
