My iPhone is original or fake?

I bought sealed iPhone 12, and after opening it, the serial number starts with "M". i.e. brand new iPhone.But I found a minor paint damage on bumper of iphone 12. I want to know whether my iPhone is fake or original.

As a point of clarification, the M at the beginning of the serial number does not indicate New/Used status. With Apple’s new random serial numbers, it means absolutely nothing.

For a model number:

M = New

N = Apple replacement unit

F = Apple refurbished unit

C = Engraved.

To check warranty status, input the serial number at: Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support
