Inability to search in Calendar on my Mac

Spotlight worked. Not sure what you mean about re-indexing boot drive.

I saw this in 12.0.1, but the problem went away with a update to 12.1.

Same problem. I've for years been able to search for past events on my Mac, and now, with a brand new iMac M1 and updated OS Monterey, suddenly the calendar search for past events gives absolutely nothing. I, like others, see my calendar events of the past on my other devices, but not on their Macs. I work primarily at a desk and rely on quick calendar searches there for much of my work. Please, Apple: what is wrong with Monterey's Calendar app? We need a solution badly.

Yes I updated to Monterrey 12.1 and things have gotten a bit better as I am now able to perform searches in finder. But same problems remain with the ICal as I couldn't perform searches from 2021 backwards and the turnaround with Spotlight / Events search doesn't show them either.

Any idea how to fix this?

Oh well, I did bit my lip and calmly installed the whole OS again.

My work delayed by 2+2 hours (2 hours for searching and asking for help, 2 hours for reinstall), but Apple survived this without any support costs.

I am running Monterey on a on an M1 chip macbook and the calendar cannot search but spotlight workaround works. I think it is an M1-chip-related problem. Works fine with latest IOS on my phone. Works fine Big Sur 11.4. Works fine on on another Macbook Intel COre 17 with Monterey 12.2.

I too have this problem, brand new 16" MacBook Pro M1 MAX 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD. I am running Monterey 12.2.1, the current up to date OS version.

I spent THREE HOURS on the phone with a "senior advisor" at Applecare yesterday to no avail. He said he would send the issue to the "engineers" and call me back tomorrow. Then, today I received an email from him saying I need to await the next version of the OS for a fix. This is really quite ridiculous. I've had Mac's since the original in 1984 and this is among the most frustrating problems I've had.

I guess I'll wait, but might try to go to the genius bar at my local store.

I'm not about to reinstall the OS though that is tempting.

I also get zero search results. Process: Intel macbook pro clean install Monterey. Migration assistant existing calendar from Mojave. All appts. appear on calendar. Communicates with other devices, icloud. Search in Cal. appears disconnected from actual calendar data base.

Tried this and no luck. Apple iMac (M1, 2021) Monterey 12.3.1;

This iMac replaced an aging MacBook Pro (laptop 2016) and I used Apple's "Migration Assistant" utility to copy from this older laptop (now de-commissioned & traded-in back to Apple) to the new iMac. I've tried all the "workarounds" suggested and still searches in the Apple Calendar app return "No Results." The search box seems to be stuck on only search "Today."

Curiously, the that same app does search correctly on my other MacBook Pro (laptop 2019) running the same Mac OS (Monterey 12.3.1). Of course, Migration Assistant was never used to setup this older laptop.

My calendar doesn’t allow me to search properly. It only shows the most recent events of the same name. This used to be only my phone and now it’s doing on my Mac book air Monterey o/s 12.4

It will not bring up some of the events that are on the current page, I’m looking and typing it in, but no results!

Seems I am in the same boat as many of you.

I have updated the software but no luck. Still can't find anything that isn't in today's calendar. Oddly, some re-occurring events such as birthdays will go back only to 2021.

Please can Apple fix or provide a solution.

Using Monterey on MacBook Pro 2021 Apple M1 Pro

Same issue here. New 16" M1 Max with 12.0.1. Calendar search not working at all, but Spotify finds entries. Hopefully fixed soon.

I have a similar problem - search will only find events in the future (from current day/time, not from where I am in the calendar). This funtionality disappeared after downloading Monterey.

Macintosh HD, either drag from desktop into “privacy” or press the + and select it there.
