Why won’t it turn on?

My iPad I have had for a few years now is not turning on. It was working fine about a year ago when I used it a lot. It was then stored in my night stand. I recently have gotten it out and now it will not work. Yes it has been charged. I have even took it to a battery replacement store and they say it is holding charge. The screen does not turn on at all to show anything. What could the issue be? I need it fixed for Christmas. I am trying to figure out if it’s worth fixing or if I should just buy a new one. (There are no cracks in screen or visible damage on outside)

Connect your iPad to its Power Adapter; whist still connected to external power, try a forced-restart:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Note:  If iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen. Or if your iPad isn’t working correctly after you restart it, see the iPad Support website.
