Corded HomePod Mini

I received my HomePod Mini yesterday. I’m very surprised to find it is not wireless. Am I missing something? Does the cord come out somehow?

No, the cord doesn't come out. The HomePod mini needs to be connected to the power supply provided, and connected to mains electricity, in order to function.
