Can MFI certified 3rd party USB-lighning cable have this issue with pin 4 (see link)

I own an amazon bought lightning cable with this problem

https://ioshacker.com/iphone/why-the-fourth-pin-on-your-lightning-cable-turns-black ?

https://www.amazon.fr/Lightning-Certifi%C3%A9-Durable-Synchronisation-Recharge/dp/B00T63906C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

The cable is MFI certified. Is it normal then that this issue happens or would that suggest that the certification of this cable is counterfeit ?

(I've never had the issue with other Apple or 3rd party lightning cables).

Was the power source also Apple or MFI certified?

One problem with MFI is that anyone can stamp “MFI” on their products. There are lots of 3rd party counterfeit “Apple" products out there. And Amazon has a huge problem with counterfeit everything. Only buy name brands (Anker, Mophie, Griffin, etc).
