tables in the Notes app

so, I've created a table and pasted in text previously typed.

the table, however, retains it original width instead stretching to accommodate the text.

I'm talking about short entries: names and codes, not lengthy sentences.

so my question is, how to I stretch the width of a table in Notes?

I've explored my table in every way possible, but I get not cues as to how to widen it.

Have you compared your results using some other Application...?
